Inspiration: RIP Madiba | the ReFab Diaries

A lot has been written, and will continue to be written, about the loss of the man South Africans call Madiba, or "Tata". I came of age in apartheid South Africa - I was in my early 20s when this already living-legend was released from prison. Thanks to him, my first experience voting in a democracy was in my own country, along with millions of other people also voting for the first time. Thanks to him, I slowly became "proudly South African" rather than being terribly embarrassed that I was who/what I was (a "white" South African).

It's extremely difficult to capture, in words, the influence this man has had on my life. I'm grateful to have been witness to what he achieved. May he rest in amazing grace.
