Reducing waste through upcycling, repurposing, refashioning and reloving.

Making things Bright.

Confession: I loathe the forward and backward movement of the clocks. It messes with my body's rhythms, my appetite, my energy levels etc. And right now, the sun starts going down around 3:45pm in Chicago. So, I'm literally looking for light, and always grateful for the merry and the bright. Here are some ideas for making your life a little lighter, if you're needing it as much as I am!

Few materials needed for this sweet craft. And I'm a sucker for copper wire. Instructions here.

Or, light things up in a very minimal, Scandinavian way with a candle wreath.  How to here

My take on the light-up shadow box. Super easy to make

These lovely paper things are called Luminaries. It's a great way to upcycle book pages. Instructions here.

Using copper beads and copper (or brass) wire always adds a little warmth and shine. Click here to make the Himmeli and twig tree ornaments.

I love the idea of building lots of small copper himmeli's around a string of lights. Or, use foil cupcake liners to bounce light all over the place.

Or this! It's just twine, and the light is suddenly all pinot noir warm. Right? Instructions here.

And finally, copper wire and candlelight. This little project upcycles plastic packaging, believe it or not. Instructions here.
