Repurpose: Doily re-do's ...

Starch and doilies ... would your kids even know what those are? I know my grandmother loved both of them - starch for collars and doilies for decorating, everything.  They  adorned side tables, the backs of chairs, her dressing table, her nightstands. She said they were "feminine".  Ak.  I was never a fan.  But I do like the way they've returned.  And I've found 19 fresh (and yes, feminine!) decor ideas I love and want to share:

Vintage Doily Mobile by Sparkle Candace ... spotted on Creature Comforts.  She stitched vintage doilies and felt together then cut the shapes freehand. I love how organic the final product feels.

Another twist on the Doily Vase. I love how minimalist it is.

A simple, pretty bowl.

A jewelry organizer perhaps? This really appeals to me

A similar idea - a little more dreamcatcher. Spotted here.

This wonderful doily plant hanger is a totally doable thing! Instructions at Lobster and Swan

Old doilies, lace and a hanger via Cottage Dreams

Love the pops of color in this doily window treatment

Even more color! Sometimes vintage doilies are stained or discolored beyond repair. So dye them and create the window treatment or do something like this

This clay bowl isn't new ... but every time I see it, I like it more.  So it's getting included in this round up.

A super-simple little pillow adornment.  My gran would approve.

No how-to for these lions... but I couldn't resist.  I love how curmudgeonly they look.

Catch some doily dreams? Not a tutorial but a pretty self-evident DIY

One of many versions of a doily table runner ... it's still my favorite.

Not decor ... but I couldn't resist including this idea for embellishing jeans

Vintage footstool gets a doily and button makeover ... I think the finished product is perfect for the style of the stool.

The lamp I featured recently in my lighting post ... DIY care of A Beautiful Mess

The Instructables take on a vintage doily lamp.

Repurposed doilies and frames ....care of Fleamarket Trixie.

Covering the cat scratches on an old couch ... love this.   Spotted on Modern Rags.
