I'm often very inspired by online home tours, but until I saw Emma Whyte's upcycled cottage (Isle of Skye), I never wanted to just copy something wholesale. Or just move in!
Since I'm known for my obsessive reuse of old books, I'm going to focus on her beautiful use of book pages. But please click through and look at her whole house.
First, the bird encyclopedia "wallpaper" in the living room. I love the way it somehow works with the Orla Kiely print and barkcloth curtains. That lampshade btw... that became "Orla Kiely" thanks to a repurposed pillowcase Emma bought on ebay.
The yellow-legged table was resurfaced with ladybird book pages. The wall in the hallway, with vintage comics. And the 50's coffee table was remade with. knitting. patterns. Yes, I'm swooning just a tad.
This last image is just because. Because I can't really get enough. Because the colors are so fab. Because, that clock! For an exhaustive tour of the place, check out the feature at Recycled Interiors.
