My Green Traveler is the brainchild of James Robinson and Juliene Wintermute, who met in college as environmental engineering students. Their goal: create dynamic, useful and sustainable to-go ware through a design process that produces minimal to zero-waste during any of their product’s production and distribution cycles.In their own words: We were both fed up with throwing away disposable to-go containers that we knew were ending up in landfills. And we were also frustrated by the leaks and bulkiness that came with using either plastic storage bags or Tupperware-type containers to carry food or drinks. So, when Juliene and I teamed up in a business-plan competition, we created something we think the world will love using.
My Green Traveler is an eco-friendly lunch container designed with four separate, leak-proof compartments that can carry a total of 44 ounces of food or beverages and can easily clip to a bag or strap. "We call it the world's first no-nonsense, convenient, leak-proof and reuseable to-go container."
Carry it inside or outside your bag and be confident that the lid won’t pop off, whether you take it traveling or biking, to the office or to the mountains. It’s just like a reusable water bottle, offering an easy, hassle-free way to carry food and help our environment at the same time. My Green Traveler is designed to clip to the outside of any bag, strap, sling or belt loop and fits in the beverage net on the side of most backpacks. It keeps items inside dry as well as holding liquids.
Use it to buy food in bulk, to take home restaurant leftovers, to pack lunches or to carry first-aid or infant supplies. In addition to everyday uses, it’s also rugged enough to take hiking, skiing, rafting, kayaking, canoeing, climbing and use during all outdoor activities.
Constructed with ABS plastic, known for its technical and food-safe properties without BPA or phthalates, it’s also resistant to high-heat – making it safe to use in microwaves and be cleaned in dishwashers. Green Traveler is also designed to be safe for children. It contains no leaching plastics, no hazardous chemicals and no small parts that could be a choking hazard for kids.
Finally, the company is committed to donating one percent of its net income to natural resource conservation funds and encourages the recycling of all its products through a return program.
