Keep your senses sharp for those elusive rare trading cards that often grace the shelves of antique stores if you are an avid fan of card games or collectibles. I’m not a trading card aficionado by any means. However, I know I shouldn’t completely dismiss these cards when I pass by them. These coveted cards can hail from popular games such as Magic: The Gathering or Pokémon, and they can command a significant resell price if they are in impeccable condition.
In addition to these more off-the-wall cards, you can find some standard sports trading cards—some holding a lot of value. Various sports, like hockey, have amazing and valuable NHL rookie trading cards that you can make some money with, or they could kickstart your card-collecting hobby.
Be sure to give any cards you see a second look; they may be the best new addition to your home. I know I’ll be more careful the next time I see a trading card in mint condition!

Keep in mind, I didn’t develop my eye for discerning what is rare and valuable overnight, it took a long time.
