DIY and upcycled holiday cards for 2023 | the ReFab Diaries

If you're a holiday card person and you haven't tried making your own, this is the year to do it! I have two easy tutorials for you.

I have a love/hate relationship with greeting cards. I love giving and receiving them... I don't love how expensive they are and I really hate the waste. At worst, they go straight into the trash after the holidays. At best, they get sent for recycling.

So here are a couple of ideas for making your own. First up, the yarn trees:

I had a lot of fun making this with my kid - once I'd created the holes she was easily able to thread the yarn through to make the three. Find the full tutorial here.

The other DIY holiday card idea involves pulling paper scraps from old books, catalogs, and magazines:

I love the overall effect of the torn pages. Hop over to the tutorial for all the instructions (include how to make a really colorful version!). If you'd like to gift a pack of fine art cards as a holiday gift, you can shop my collection here. They start at $2.55/card. But the more you buy, the bigger the discount.
