the ReFab Diaries

Do you have some leftover wood from your last home renovation or DIY project? As someone committed to sustainability, you don’t want to waste it, and the good news is you don’t have to! I’m here today to share some woodworking projects for repurposed scrap wood that will result in useful, high-quality items for use around the home.

Woodworking Projects for Repurposed Scrap Wood

Solar panels are great for making a home sustainable and help me save on monthly utility bills, but solar panel installation can be costly. I’ll help you learn if you can install solar panels at home yourself.

Electric cars are gaining in popularity. In a few decades, they may even become the number one choice for consumers. That is why car makers go electric nowadays.

Kayaking has always been an immensely popular pastime but has seen a real boom in the past decade. With more kayakers hitting the water, environmental concerns around kayak production and disposal have also increased. After all, many are made using materials such as plastic or glass fiber that aren't easily reusable, and once they become damaged, they are often disposed of. However, some kayak manufacturers are now pioneering more sustainable options.

Moving homes can be an exciting journey, but it often comes with a significant environmental footprint. From packing materials to the transportation involved, relocating can have a considerable impact on the planet. However, with a little planning and creativity, it's possible to make your move more eco-friendly.

Conscious consumerism is a growing movement, and it’s reshaping the tech industry. People are prioritizing long-term value and sustainability through conscious consumption, reflecting a deeper concern beyond the immediate benefits of their purchases. Companies are responding by adopting more agile and experiential approaches, contributing to environmental improvement, and fostering lasting connections with customers.

Environmental concerns aren't new. Yet, in spite of the huge number of people fighting to preserve and conserve the environment, it seems to be an unresolvable issue. The consequences of environmental problems are even taught in school to ensure that more people will be aware of how to take care of the planet.

This list was a hit last year so it's back! Just like last year, there's a lot on the list that I own myself. Plus some things I'll be adding to my own wishlist this year.
